Door-to-door survey for dengue

dengue-logo

Faced with mounting cases of dengue fever, the Corporation of Chennai has undertaken door-to-door survey of dengue in households in areas of high vulnerability, which includes Velachery.

The mode of the survey is simple: people are asked whether anyone in the household has fever. If the response is a “yes” then the symptoms of dengue are explained and the next steps detailed.

This campaign has been especially effective in the areas where waterlogging has been noticed and this includes large parts of South Chennai.
