The MRTS station at Velachery will soon have a 1500 sq-ft food plaza with multiple vendors. Tenders have been invited by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for the same. The site, which is an open-to-sky space, is due to come up in six months after work commences. Commuters can look forward to a quick bite on the way to the office and home. The proposed site is to the right of the entrance to the station, by the platform.
